Women’s Equality Day is celebrated every year on August 26th in the US. It is the day we commemorate the adoption of the 19th Amendment into the Constitution, which ensures the right to vote for everyone regardless of gender. Since 1920, this day has been one to celebrate because it is the day women were given a voice in this country. And today it is a chance for us to learn and honor the people who came before us, fighting for change. Fighting for justice. Fighting for equality.
We know this could be a day that just comes and goes, but we want to do our part to help it matter more than National Guacamole Day. Here are some ways you and your friends can celebrate Women’s Equality Day.
There are loads of amazing resources out there teaching about key players and key events throughout women's history. Give it a quick goog' and check it out.
