International Women’s Day: A shoutout to the Power Chicks who make our world great

Today is International Women’s Day, so let’s take it as an opportunity to do what we do best: uplift and elevate the women who make our world a better place. From first responders, to political activists, to the superhero mom next door, our communities are full of strong, influential women who make a difference. Whether it’s you, me, or her; today is our day and we’re ready to celebrate.

This International Women’s Day, we’re calling out a few of the badass women in our Goal Five community that embody what it means to be a ‘Power Chick’. Before we begin, let’s make one thing clear: a Power Chick is not defined by her physical strength as an athlete, she is defined by her willingness to show up for those around her, and her ability to thrive in the face of adversity. No matter your background, status, or profession, every single one of you is a power chick in your own right. Follow along on our Instagram this week, and see if any of the qualities and accomplishments of these rad women hit home.

Goal Five Power Chick

Aside from International Women’s Day, March is a big month for both recognizing the accomplishments of women and making strides toward gender equality. This month, we’re collaborating with EleVen by Venus Williams to enact an optional “Privilege Tax” on all Goal Five purchases to represent closing the gender-wage gap in America. Women earn 81 cents for every dollar paid to a man, so we’re giving you the option to add 19 cents to your order to fill the deficit. All proceeds from this ‘tax’ will go towards Girls Inc. in Los Angeles, California, in an effort to provide entrepreneurial opportunities for incredible young girls. Are you in?

Enough from us, it’s time to do the deed. How are you uplifting yourself and those around you today? We’d love to see - tag us on Instagram @goalfive to show us all the ways you’re showing up as a Power Chick today and everyday.
